Re: Static Site Webmention

Khürt, think you got mistaken, I am not Joel! Was the mention supposed to be for me?

I see that you yourself have a URL/Permalink input field to send mentions, mine is the same. And it is only for the ones who haven't automated sending them in their site building pipeline.

It is only there as an option. In case the automation fails or is not set up.

Webmentions

Have you written a response to this? Let me know the URL, Or, you can send your response via mail:iac@scientiac.space

Hopefully this reply gets to https://scientiac.space/syndications/reply-2026-01-10/

Sorry — that one’s on me. I’d been reading Joel’s post “Webmentions but manual (for Jekyll)” and then jumped over to your reply at https://scientiac.space/blog/webmentions/, and I basically crossed the wires in my head. Apologies for the mix-up.

I’m on WordPress with the full IndieWeb plugin stack, so sending/receiving Webmentions is mostly automatic on my end, but not everyone has Webmentions wired up, which is why I keep the “URL/Permalink of your article” field around as a manual fallback.
